The Provision: Trusting God's Setup in the Arena of LifeRev. Joseph Holmes,

H C Cowboy Ministries

Scripture of Focus: “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” — Philippians 4:19 (KJV)

Hey there, friends good morning to everyone! Grab a cup of coffee, and let's chat a spell. You know, there's something downright magical about those early hours at the rodeo grounds. Picture it with me Its early morning and we just pull up in our truck. And when we get out that crisp air hits your face, carrying the earthy smell of fresh turned dirt mixed with the smell of horse sweat and livestock.

Now, when the time comes and we are stepping into that chute, you never quite know what kinda ride you're in for. That bronc could be a dream smooth as as can be, letting you glide…

Thank you again, preacher for those encouraging words that always hit the spot like a good ol' cup of coffee first thing in the morning. I'm still facing some anxiety and stress, like a bull rider before the chute opens. I know this season I'm in is the cup the Lord wants me to drink and by His grace, I will ! I ask for prayer for our daughter Hannah again. She had another procedure done yesterday. While my wife is with her, I have to take care of things at home plus work all day. Please pray for healing physically for all of us here. Have a blessed weekend and look forward to church on Sunday !

Scripture

“And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works.”— Hebrews 10:24 (KJV)

Good Morning everyone, I got a question this morning have you ever just stood there in the gray light before sunup, coffee steaming in your hands, and feel that quiet settle over you like an old blanket like the ones your grandma use to have? Out here, mornings don’t rush you. They just kinda speak, and one thing they keep whispering is this. You weren’t made to ride this whole trail by yourself.

I mean, think about it. After a long day of working on horse farm or pushing cows up a draw, when the light’s fading and the horses are finally fed and put up what happens? Everybody starts drifting toward the bunkhouse for dinner or that little orange glow we…

yesterday

You know preacher, I have been in a church where you almost have to trip someone up to get them to say "good morning". It seemed there was always a certain "group" and you just didn't fit in. This devotional is so true, to what the New Testament church should be; warm fellowship, greetings and sitting together in unity around the campfire of the Lord. I'm so thankful to be a part of HC Cowboy Ministries and the open arm fellowship and encouragement that is here. I consider you my geographically long distance pastor and I appreciate you. Again, I'm looking forward to revival and what the work of the Lird is going to entail.

The RodeoBy Rev. Joseph HolmesH C Cowboy Ministries (Horsemen of Christ)

Scripture:“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”—2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV – the way I like to read it sometimes)

Good Morning Cowboys and Cowgirls lets take a minute. I’ve been around enough buckin’ stock and bad draws when I was riding bulls and to tell you the truth rodeo don’t care how many times you’ve won. You can have the gold buckle shinin’ on your dresser, the truck paid off from last year’s winnings, and folks callin’ you “the man to beat.” But when that chute opens and that bull or bronc comes out, he ain’t read your press clippings. His goal is to buck you off, and he’s got four legs and a bad attitude.

You do everything right—glove up, rosined rope, feet set, deep…

Such a beautiful analogy, about the bull rider and our walk of faith. Right now I feel like I've been bucked off lately but I must trust the Lord. Thank you for this mornings devotion !

I'm still learning to forget those things of the past and look forward to heavenly trail ahead. Amidst the gullets, briars, thistles and rough terrain, I'm thankful the Lord is our ultimate Trail Boss and will never lead us off the right and true trails of life.

It’s Monday today, as we start a new week. I would like to say something first, now I know that work is waiting, but before we rush out the door, I want to take a minute to remind everyone how we ought to prepare for each day.

The Wild Horse Within

by: Cowboy Evangelist Rev. Joseph Holmes

Produced by: H C Cowboy Ministries

Scripture Focus: Romans 7:14–25

Mornin’, Friends.

Before the sun even thinks about cresting the ridge, you can feel the day stirring. If you’ve been at this life long enough, you know the feeling I’m talking about. It’s the smell of cold leather, the steam rising off a coffee cup in the dark, and the quiet shuffle of horses in the pens waiting for their first feed.

Even a Good Horse Gets Spooked by a Shadow Sometimes

Good morning, friends. Before the coffee cools and before we get the day’s work started, I want to take a minute to settle our spirits and look at Proverbs 3:5, where the Word tells us to “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; and lean not unto your own understanding.” That’s a verse we’ve all heard a thousand times, but sometimes the hardest miles to travel are the eighteen inches between our head and our heart.

You know, it’s funny how we can wake up feeling steady, grounded, and ready to take on the world, and then one little thing blows across our path and suddenly that peace gets rattled. It doesn’t even have to be a mountain in the road; sometimes it’s just a phone call you weren’t expecting, a number on a feed bill that makes your…

The Brand That Takes You In

By Rev. Joseph Holmes — H C Cowboy Ministries

Hebrews 13:2

Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some have entertained angels without knowing it.”

Good morning, friends.

Before we saddle up and get into the story the Lord laid on my heart today, I want to take a minute to say a heartfelt thank you. I felt every single one of those prayers you lifted up for my stress test. The doctor gave me a good report yesterday, and I’m grateful—grateful for God’s steady hand, and grateful for this little online cowboy church family. We might be spread out across the country, but when one of us is in a tight spot, we circle the wagons.

The Detour That Saved Him Scripture

 Proverbs 16:9 (NIV)

“In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.”

Good morning, friends.

Before the rest of the world wakes up and the noise of the day starts pulling you in ten different directions, I want to invite you to just sit a spell with me.

I’m sitting here with a hot cup of coffee, looking out across the pasture as the sun starts to crack the horizon, and I’ve been asking the Lord the same question I ask Him every morning: "Lord, what is it You want Your people to hear today?"

As I look back on closed doors of the past, I'm thankful that those doors were closed. I may never know until eternity why they were closed, but I'm thankful the Lord steered in a different direction.
