What's the Job Today?

Scripture Focus: Isaiah 6:8 (KJV) — "Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me."
Good morning everyone hope everyone is having a blessed week in the Lord. God bless you all on this beautiful Thursday morning. I am still working in the barn thats why I am late getting this out, but I am so incredibly thankful for another day to be above ground and serving the Lord.
Out here on a working ranch, the day starts early. When a good ranch hand wakes up, he does not sit on the porch waiting for the boss to bring him breakfast or ask what the ranch is going to do for him that day. He puts his boots on, walks out to the barn, finds the foreman, and asks one simple question: "What is the job today?" He knows he is there to work for the outfit, whether that means mending a broken fence line, doctoring a sick calf, or saddling up a his horse to push cattle.
Unfortunately, a lot of us do not treat our relationship with the Lord the same way. We treat the ultimate Trail Boss like He is just there to serve us. Our morning prayers are often just a list of demands: Lord, fix my bank account. Lord, make my boss nicer to me. Lord, bless my plans today. Now, God is a loving Father and He certainly wants to hear our needs, but true spiritual maturity happens the moment you wake up, put your boots on, and ask, "Lord, what can I do for You today?"
In the book of Isaiah, the Lord asks who will go and work for the Kingdom. Isaiah did not ask what the pay was, and he did not ask for a list of benefits. He simply said, "Here am I; send me." He told the Master he was ready to ride.
You might be reading this thinking, "Brother Joe, I have a criminal record, I have struggled with addiction, and my past is a wreck. God does not want me working for His outfit." That is a lie straight from the enemy. This Outfit uses broken people to reach broken people. Your job today might be as simple as checking on a lonely neighbor, sharing your testimony with someone who is struggling, or just showing the love of Christ to a difficult person in your life. But you will never know what your assignment is if you never step up and ask for it.
Now I want to talk to someone today who has been living entirely for yourself. You have been asking God to bless your mess without ever offering to work for His Kingdom. Or maybe you feel so washed up by your past mistakes that you think you have been permanently disqualified from serving the Lord. I invite you today to stop running your own life. Give your heart to Jesus Christ right now. Surrender your agenda, accept His forgiveness, and tell the Trail Boss you are ready to work. The Master has a job specifically with your name on it.
Let’s Pray,
Father, we come to You this morning asking You to forgive us for the times we treat You like a servant instead of our King. Lord, shift our focus today. Instead of just asking what You can do for us, we are stepping up to the barn and asking: What can we do for You today? Open our eyes to the people around us who need Your love, Your grace, and Your salvation. Use us to build Your Kingdom today, no matter how broken our pasts might be. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Let me ask you this. When your boots hit the floor this morning, did you ask the Lord what He could do for you, or did you ask Him who you could serve today?
Never forget "A good hand does not ask what the outfit can do for him; he asks which horse needs saddling. Step up and ask for your assignment."

Amen. My favorite passage in Isaiah !
