The Cowboy’s Confession

I woke up this mornin’ before the sun hit the sky,

Boots on the floor with a penitent sigh.

Said, “Lord, I’ll do better, I’ll walk Your straight line,”

But by noon I was cussin’—this ol’ heart of mine.

Paul said it plain: “What I want, I don’t do,

What I hate, I keep doin’—that struggle’s true.”

Every cowboy knows that fight inside,

Between sin’s old nature and the Spirit’s ride.

Religion says, “Try harder, clean yourself up,”

But Jesus says, “Come thirsty—I’ll fill your cup.”

Grace ain’t a burden, it’s freedom and song,

The Savior’s the strength when the trail gets long.

So when you stumble, don’t hide in shame,

Call on the Cowboy King—He knows your name.

You’re not fightin’ for victory, it’s already won,

Through the cross, through the grave, through God’s only Son.

So saddle up daily, let His grace be your guide,

The struggle is real—but Christ walks by your side.
